From Stephen King tale in development right now it looks like Dark Tower to have the upper hand in getting to the first screen. Although the victory was won, but barely, especially after reading the remarks today made the king himself a film about his fate.
In an interview with Rolling Stone was asked Stephen King preaching about long adaptation during pregnancy and the flurry of new activity. Seeing as the King is the author of the highest order, and was known for taking the audience was relatively quiet on the ride with some of his work, he wove his magic in an update of the following status on the project:
It looks to me like it's more likely than not that it will happen at this point. Let's put it that way. I think it's not that Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey will be in it. But I can not say with any certainty. I know they're trying to make a deal with these actors [and] with Sony, and that's the extent of my knowledge.
While some may consider the statement of doubt regarding the long march to visit the Dark Tower movie became Stephen King also as a reminder to be careful that he has been in this place before, all too often. By this point in history, we were supposed adapting Tower Dark directed by Ron Howard and / or J.J. Abrams set up at Universal or Warner Bros., with Russell Crowe Javier Bardem and the role of up to Roland. Not to mention, we were promised that a TV series that ran parallel to the events of the film, but the less said about that the better. Better still, his faith in the participants, Mr. Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey makes this news even enjoy more, an actor both are not only superpower in its own right - but potentially going head to head in the battle of good versus evil. If all of the missing to bring the horse to the finish line is a Greenlight Studio and expressed great support, perhaps it is time to celebrate. We are still cautious, but we will allow ourselves to buy into the speculation, just a little bit more before we recorded.
If destined to allow the stars align, and all of the contracts that were signed on time, The Dark Tower should be saddling release date for January 13 201 7. But if they later collide to 2017 / early 201 8, we will understand, so long as everything is in its place.
