For more than two decades, Star Wars has further found that famous galaxy far, far outside of the movie through the University expansion a.k.a. EU. Then, after Disney bought Lucasfilm, it was announced that in addition to the six movies and live action animated Clone Wars series, books, comics, video games, and other types of media except Canon. Lucasfilm now have a section that makes sure that the stories of all that is not a film with Canon has a new and material before the year 201 4 whether it was previously prequel Trilogy or after the return of the Jedi, now under the "legendary" banner. Fortunately, there are still some opportunity to bring back some of the European players back into the Star Wars universe, as it is said that they can be mined for content.
A few weeks ago it was rumored that the Grand Admiral Thrawn, the EU's biggest Rouge antagonist will debut his canon rebel official Disney XD series Star Wars. While not yet been confirmed, it does open the possibility of reintroducing these characters in Europe into the canon. Obviously, these people will not only be modified to fit the new timeline, but what they have shown in the project, they will add significantly older.
